Where they overlap
Aether Cloud and Devin both address AI-assisted software work, but their current autonomy is not equivalent. Devin is an autonomous software engineer with a strong reputation for end-to-end task execution. If your ideal workflow is handing a job to a cloud agent and reviewing the result, that model is a real strength.
Where Aether Cloud is different
The clearest difference is where the work happens. Aether Cloud is a desktop-native coding environment: it runs on your own machine rather than in a managed cloud environment. Aether is building two macro-orchestrators for it — Neo to plan and Kronus to execute — which will keep planning and execution as separate, inspectable stages; they are not yet available. Neo and Kronus are a positioning term for that split, not a hardware claim.
Aether Cloud also leans on a distinct security and decision substrate. It is secured by Protocol-C, which provides zero-cost classical commitments from OS kernel entropy, with routing hardened by Moving Target Defense. (Protocol-L and Protocol-T are related quantum-authenticated and hardware-attested commitment layers offered under Aether Protocol — a separate product line, not shipped inside Aether Cloud.) Decisions are bounded by Quantum-Constrained AI (QOPC), a classical AI guided by quantum-derived constraints — the AI is classical and Aether Cloud does not run on a quantum computer.
Which should you choose
Choose Devin if you want a fully autonomous, cloud-hosted software engineer to take on tasks remotely. Choose Aether Cloud if you want desktop-local, multi-model coding with commitment-backed security. Aether's visible Neo/Kronus plan/execute split is a roadmap item, not a current capability.
